Huey, Dewey, Louie

So spring is here, and that means expanding the farm!

We decided to continue the fowl enterprise by going into ducks. This will be our first time having ducks, so it will be a little bit of a learning curve.

We bought our ducklings at Tractor Supply for about $4.50 each. They are "assorted breeds". Meaning, the employees have no idea what they are.

We have 2 browns, a brown and gold, and 5 yellow. That being said, we are pretty certain we have 1 mallard, who we are calling Mal, and the others are unknown.

They are being kept in a brooder, very similar to chicks at the moment. The only difference being that they like to play in the water, so the shavings get wet and dirty a lot faster. One benefit though, they don't scratch around in their food like chicks do.

More updates to come soon!
