Pallet Gate - Cute and Cheap!
For all of your projects at the farm, they tend to need to be two things; cute and cheap!
To start with, now we are going to talk about gates. Gates tend to be one of the most expensive part of the farm and one of the most important!
Instead of buying a $60 gate, why not use pallets?
You will need:
Pallet
Screws
Hinges
Square wooden post
Hook
Small chain
Mount the gate onto the wooden post with the hinges. $2 from Wal-mart. This is a 2 person job.
Use hook on the top of the pallet to hold the gate closed. We used a small chain attached to the t-post of a bordering fence. You can also buy gate latch kits for around $7 from a hardware store.
I chose not to paint the gates to give them a more "rustic" look.
