Barred Plymouth Rocks

Our second addition this spring is a couple Barred Rock chicks.

Another dual-purpose bird, they are good layers of large brown eggs, laying about 4 eggs per week. They also have a large build which is good for meat production.

Not as pretty as the wyandottes, but a good chicken addition!

They do tend to prefer a lot of space, so not a good confinement chicken. If you are looking for a great free-ranger, this is your bird!
