Buck Up and Buck Hay

Yesterday I got a call from a friend. They needed help putting up hay. The gave us the option, $8/hour OR 4 bales/hour. HAY ME PLEASE! On average, a bale of hay costs $6-$7 per bale. The bales weren't that great, but hey, it's hay.

There were a couple of other people there loading and hauling. We had a total of 2 trucks with trailers (our white one and another), 2 drivers, 4 loaders.

Sadly, some of the guys weren't very experienced with hay and thus did not stack it properly. They also were not able to develop a system and were like rats scattering everywhere instead of moving with the truck and working together. The epitome of working harder not smarter.

We were able to get about 4 loads total before the other guys got tired. At one point, Kyle and I were stuck on our own. I was driving and Kyle was loading.

My man was born to haul hay. He was able to load and stack as much as the 3 others in the same amount of time.

Word to the wise girls. If you want to have a farm or horses, get yourself a good farm-boy!
