Purple Potato
One philosophy I have is why should I have regular plants when I can have colorful ones?
This is the same philosophy I have for chickens.
So, now I have purple potatoes. Yes, you read that right, purple.
So far, the crop is coming up pretty good. Sadly, the potatoes are not very big, just the perfect size for boiling or roasting.
Purple potatoes are very similar to russet potatoes, although some varieties are sweet potatoes. The do have a higher antioxidant value than regular potatoes.
The above pictures is them fresh out of the garden. We do not wash them until we are ready to cook them, the stay better longer that way. In the picture are also a couple of our red potatoes, also good for boiling.
