Gobble Gobble Turkey!

We have added a new adventure to the farm, Turkeys!

While we were running around day before yesterday, we ran into our neighbor. He was selling some day old turkey poults for $5/each. That is a pretty good deal, so we decided to go for it. They will be in the brooder for a while, and then we will move them into the fenced rabbit hutch area for the time being. We have a metal a-frame that we built that we will use for the coop. We have 3 to start with, so will see how it goes. I am pretty sure we have 2 males and 1 female, but we will see.

So far, they have been much friendlier than my chicks. I will post more as they grow and we will all discover the fun of turkeys together! Sadly, they probably will not be butchering size for Christmas, but hopefully we will be able to hatch some out and have some for next Christmas.
