Cactus Cuttings
I am trying a new thing today, planting cuttings from cactus. I have done a little reading, and there are about a million different ways to start cactus plants from cuttings. Some suggest cutting sections and adding a rooting hormone, some suggest cutting and letting it dry out so a calous forms, some say spring while the plant is active some say dormant in winter. So, we are going to do a mixture of cuttings and see what we get.
First, I did get some rooting hormone. We actually have some tree cuttings, so I had some around.
After cutting some of the small pieces of cactus, I applied the rooting medium and then placed them in soil. It will be a little while to see if I get any new little cactus plants. So now the wait begins!
