The Rooster Renegade

On the farm right now, we have 3 roosters. One is our easter egger rooster who we have had a little over a year. He is a very sweet rooster.

Then we have the other two...

Grey is currently "top dog" on the farm. He is currently the only rooster I have actually paid money for, and boy he knows it! He is a blue wyandotte and he is turning into a little turd!

He is very pretty and he will give me splash and blue laced hens. However, he has started to become a hassle. Whenever my back is turned, he has decided to start attacking my legs. I have a couple rules on the farm, one of which being 'thou shalt not attack me', it doesn't end well for him.

Typically it involves me hitting him with a stick or spraying him with the water hose.

However, now he has a secondary culprit.

Since Grey has decided to attack me, now Sarah's rooster (named so because we got him from a girl named Sarah) has been going at me too! He was a free rooster and now I think he is going to get the boot! He was very pretty and I was excited about his chicks, but refer to the above rule. We have a poultry swap on Sunday and so I am hoping I will be able to get a new rooster and get rid of him.

Now the dilemma is, how many roosters do we get rid off?

Having roosters can be quite the pain, but in the end they are very helpful. That being said, there is always another rooster how out, so I tend to not get too attached unlike my hens!
