2018 Totals
After looking at the logs for 2018, we came up with some fun numbers.
1) We butchered 12 roosters, 1 rabbit and 5 ducks
Totaling approximately 34 lbs of poultry meat and 3 lbs of rabbit meat and 6 Quarts of Stock.
We approximated $4 per lb for poultry and $6 per pound for rabbit. So, we saved approximately $154 on meat for the year.
For the year, the farm profited $359.35 cash, not including the months of November and December, were I lost a lot of the receipts and failed to log because of the holidays.
So, for the money saved on meat and the profits from selling, we have about a $513.35 value for the farm for the year 2018.
This does not include the value of replacement chicks kept for the hatches, eggs used/eaten, replacement kits, and produce from the garden.
It also does not include the compost that we have generated or used in the garden beds.
Since having the farm, we have also been able to do hipcamp, where we have earned $422.10 for the year.
We hatched 135 chicks and had 48 baby bunnies.
Sadly, we have not yet calculated our losses for the year due to dogs, weather, age and predators, those numbers are yet to come.
